Great. We have trollies that aren’t running in the tunnel, El and bus lines that routinely cancel trains and buses making it extremely difficult, and then there is the smell. I know this isn’t entirely their fault but this is screwing ridership.

Important to note that when asked by a student if joining the counterprotest would also be excused, she replied the protest had to be organized, so no that student would not be excused. As a prof, I winced at her answer.

I swear I am going to add to my syllabus next semester, "Any question about what an essay is about that is asked the evening before the essay is due will not be answered". (The topics are on the syllabus, on canvas, and we go over them in class).

I didn't know at first that the professor is trans, but it was clear the essay was a setup to get rid of her - the playbook is obvious, now that they've used it so much. The prof knew too, hence the attempt to avoid it by having the 2nd prof agree. Her being trans makes the motivation so transparent
