Read this declaration. A professional soccer player has been imprisoned in El Salvador and forced into hard labor on the basis of soccer-related tattoos and a single, innocent hand gesture.

This is why the administration is withholding due process. It knows its targets could prove their innocence.

If you've ever wondered how an authoritarian coup seizes power, this is literally what it looks like.
Last night’s article in the Washington Post about D.C. police responding to a 911 call by illegally letting DOGE onto private property is unlike any news story I have ever read. Every single person should read this article and think about where our society is going.

Former security guards broke into to the building of a nonprofit with a key they weren’t supposed to have. MPD was called about the break in. Instead of helping, MPD let in the intruders who had been kept outside and removed the ppl working at the nonprofit

Hey @mayorbowser.bsky.social why did DC cops, paid for by my taxes, unlawfully force a nonprofit THAT IS NOT UNDER THE CONTROL OF THE EXECUTIVE BRANCH to let DOGE in?

we are letting the fascists in. we are giving them keys. we are hoping they won’t get too mad at us. where does this shit end?

I like when Harrison Ford gets paid a big stinky paycheck because you know exactly where that money is going: comical amounts of weed and a small plane or helicopter that he will crash in a golf course

me: you don’t want to be the FIRST person to leave a Zoom call, because that implies you were dying for it to end and had your finger hovering over the button. but you don’t want to be LAST either, that implies you weren’t paying attention to your screen. so it’s very hard.

KNOW YOUR MAD MEN MODALITIES:
Don Draper mode - leaving work early to go to a movie
Summer Manning- getting head in the back of a cab
Monolithed - so drunk you want to watch the Mets
Dick Whitmanpilled - smoking, drinking, and cheating on your wife
you can't say you're going "don draper mode" without being open to a wide variety of interpretation from innocent to very sinister, so i think we should collectively agree it means leaving work early to go to a movie

everybody knows deep down that "we need to give all perspectives a hearing" did not mean we should expect Dan Rather to interview swamp Maoists, and also that the claim the far right has to the table of decency in the US was bought, in this century as in the previous ones, with dollars and bullets
It’s not an echo chamber we just don’t accept hate speech and shitty right wing media. It’s really interesting to see how hard the pundit class is trying to claim that if you don’t accept far right and increasingly fascist viewpoint, you live in an echo chamber. This is a demonstrable lie.
