The last time Sam Rasoul ran for VA06, back in 2008, it was a deep-red district - and the results were lopsided for the Republican candidate (Rep. Bob Goodlatte). In a 10D-1R redistricting, presumably VA06 would look VERY different (a lot bluer) in 2026. bluevirginia.us/2025/12/mond...

What @activateva.bsky.social says here is 100% accurate: the VA redistricting absolutely was "designed to fail" - as many of us said at the time. Not surprisingly, it then "actually failed and forced the court to deal with legislators' poorly designed process." bluevirginia.us/2025/12/frid...
VA Sen. Schuyler VanValkenburg claims (incorrectly) that what Activate Virginia says about the designed-to-fail Virginia redistricting amendment is somehow inaccurate. In the end, two "special masters" - one chosen by Democrats (who was highly qualified for that task and relatively nonpartisan) and one chosen by Republicans (who was a right-wing hack)...and as a result, we ended up losing Rep. Elaine Luria (D-VA02) and had other bad outcomes.
