At a time when a member of the Commonwealth Realm is being isolated and attacked it would be nice to have a UK government with, like, an iota of ambition in foreign affairs (or anything else, for that matter).

It will be interesting to see if all those lectures we received over the years about the importance of having a "written" constitution actually ever had any merit.

It is a 100% certainty that this will actually involve spending more money, as these things generally do (hello, Sir Humphrey) and, against the backdrop of an ageing population, will not make even a marginal difference to our overall economic decline.
