Sorry to hear of the passing last week of lifelong Jag GEORGE MORRIS, aged 89. Was a member of the PTFC history & memorabilia group. An electrical engineer, he played his part in the first floodlights; aged 19, he got the honour of switching them on, exactly 70 yrs ago. 🇧🇪🔆

Yesterday in Parliament I said that the government should leave X.
🔉What dangers does X pose to our democracy? And should the government stop using it?

Good to hear yesterday from @sundersays.bsky.social and @petergeoghegan.bsky.social on the immense risk of X as it ignores legal obligations and its owner tries to influence UK politics.

Reading this right now and it’s extraordinary. Really spot on and thought provoking.
‘States of Play’ is out today in paperback, featuring new material and a brand new chapter on football in the age of autocracy and billionaires, with focus on Gianni Infantino’s relationship with Donald Trump and the new Manchester United.

In time, we're hoping we might be able to do WILLIE PAUL right with a headstone; it's not so easy though as we're duty bound by regulations to try and connect with any living relatives to gain permissions. Retweets far & wide appreciated. Thank you. 🙏

Willie Paul - any living relatives out there?
We're hoping that, perhaps through a crowdfunder, we can give Willie Paul and his family a decent final resting place; a place where we, and future generations, can visit and pay our respects. It's no...

To read the Scottish press today you’d be amazed that Scotland won last night. 3-1. Against a team who beat us 3-0 4 months ago. It absolutely infuriates them when we win.
