It's 2029, and a Reform government has sworn in its first batch of politically appointed judges. Suddenly, the Labour Party remembers why jury trials mattered.

I should like to see several former Tory government ministers in prison. Not for incompetence, because that isn't a crime, but for misconduct in public office associated with turning the pandemic into an enrichment opportunity and for gross negligence manslaughter.

Cycling has come a long way.

And with cargo bikes offering more transport capability plus the option of extra power from electric batteries, the fun and benefits are great

I've just realised where it all went wrong: -
- using electronic calculators
- not learning times tables by rote
Apologies for taking so long.

Did you watch The Hack? I can't believe papers have gotten away with destroying lives for so long. That's why I've signed the petition, set up by Hugh Grant and other phone hacking victims, to demand fair, independent regulation. Join me: you.38degrees.org.uk/petitions/a-...
A Free Press, Not a Free Pass – It's Time for Fair Regulation
For too long, the UK press have bullied people, harassed grieving families, and destroyed lives, all to sell papers. We’ve all seen the heartbreaking consequences. They’ve hacked phones, listened to ...

At that time, please join many of us to send a message of solidarity to British Jews. Thanks Together coalition for proposing.

Maybe we should call the time we're in the Nihil Era.

But then I thought; hang on, most of the people I know, especially those over ~40 years of age, live in the real world and act as such.

So it's really just the usual suspects and those too young to know better who are the nihilists.

I'll say this for Trump: he still has the ability and conceit to lie and brag without flinching whilst his audience squirm with embarrassment and can't wait to get out of the room.
Define psychopath.

Every year, billions of vehicles worldwide shed an estimated 6 million tonnes of tire fragments. These tiny flakes of plastic, generated by normal driving, account for 28% of microplastics entering the environment globally.

Heavy vehicles eg SUVs/EVs especially.

Tomorrow We Ride, by Jean Bobet — The era that got me into cycling, the 1950s

When I first rode in France, in the early 1960s, people shouted "Allez Bobet".
When I first rode in Spain, in the 1990s, people shouted "¡venga! Indurain".
The commensurate shouts I heard in the UK are "Get off and milk it" and "Oi, your back wheel's following your front".
Encouragement vs insult.

Do you want to know what I think about Charlie Kirk?

Here.

If you have a problem with it, fine.

I’ll sleep just fine tonight.
I will never extend any humanity to a person who would never, no matter how much evidence he was presented with, view me as a person worthy of dignity and equal rights.

Ever.

End of story.

I've just come upon a byway "closed for line painting". It's so broken it could barely be called paved.
It's like re-floating the Titanic to re-paint the Plimsoll Line, then leaving it to sink again.
