At long last, as I approach my sixty-ninth birthday, I’ve discovered my vocational identity: Professional Managerial Class member. . . .

Trump’s vengeance comes for a town in my home state that supports him. I’m tempted by schadenfreude but can’t go there. The Rocky Mountain Labs do good work.

A small Montana town has thrived on federal jobs. Now come Trump’s cuts.
In this pocket of red America, locals worry that the losses at Rocky Mountain Laboratories and the Bitterroot National Forest could have dire consequences.

Sobering to realize we've arrived at the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution. Like any human creation, the U.S. reveals the good, the bad, and the ugly. Yes, we're living at a moment of supreme ugliness, but let's hope for better days. . . .

It is #SaturdayMorning so here's "Interior" by Brynhild Parker from 1930. It has always seemed to me that this might be an idyllic breakfast time view to start a long, lazy week-end. The painting was once owned by an avid collector of ELG work: Sir David Scott. #BrynhildParker #EastLondonGroup

Who could see this coming? If you declare a president cannot be charged with crimes for carrying out official duties, s/he might choose to defy the Supreme Court on a clear violation of Constitutional rights. I remain amazed by the Court's naivete and ideological blindness.
