Ages of the “Founding Fathers” on July 4, 1776:
James Monroe, 18
Aaron Burr, 20
Alexander Hamilton, 21
James Madison, 25
Thomas Jefferson, 33
John Adams, 40
George Washington, 44

The average founding *father* was less than one year older than the average nazi gop "kid".
The “kids” VP Vance is referring to are 24,27,28, 29,31.

Als de woorden worst en burger al zo verwarrend zijn voor de mensen, waarom maakt de Europese Unie zich dan niet druk over partijen die vrijheid of democratie ten onrechte in hun naam hebben staan?

Also accurate for Flemish people vis à vis the Dutch, especially when either of those things are done by a Dutch person.
There is a joke here that the only thing the Austrian hates more than being called a German, is being told they have absolutely nothing in common with Germans.
I love asking my compatriots this question: if the World Cup final was between Germany and England, who would you support? Every time it puts them on the verge of a brain meltdown, very funny to watch.

Wasn't it Vance who tried to lecture us on free speech?🫠
It's not just the authoritarianism — it's how shameless, how *gleeful* this administration is about it

The "no step on snek" to "yield, man!" pipeline.
Mike Johnson: "I cannot for the life of me understand how the Democrats think this is some kind of winning political message. Yield man! Let the troops come into your city and show how crime can be reduced."

Mild take:

The vilification of "virtue signalling" was a political project designed to make even the most subtle reminders of what decency is uncouth and it fucking worked.

millions of chessable fans feel seen.
They've shoveled so many petabytes of data into that thing that it must have 'read' every chess manual in existence, logs of hundreds of matches, etc.

It lost because it doesn't actually understand a damned thing it 'reads'.

It can 'talk about' chess, but it will never be able to play it well.

Quite a moving powerful photo. An Eastern Orthodox Bishop pays his respects at Pope Francis’ tomb in St. Mary Major Basilica this week.

I've never been more insulted than when a reviewer turned in a blatantly llm-generated report and the editor acted as if this was completely normal. We used to joke that our readership was at least not smaller than the number of reviewers, now we're no longer sure about even that!
Nothing to see here, just Nature advocating LLM peer review.

“Feed your dictated notes into an offline large language model (LLM) to clarify and organize your feedback. A simple prompt such as “Write a critical reviewer letter based on the following notes. Maintain a professional tone throughout”
Three AI-powered steps to faster, smarter peer review
Tired of spending countless hours on peer reviews? An AI-assisted workflow could help.
