You can tell Fantastic Four was good because it made me go “Wow, I wish Jack Kirby could’ve seen this.”

I can’t think of a single movie that gets up on a soapbox and whips out a megaphone to tell you exactly what it’s themes and messages are only to be woefully misunderstood and misinterpreted on social media the way Superman has been

Just learned about Peter David’s passing. His work on Aquaman was one of the first comic book runs that I read from beginning to end in its entirety. Horrible to hear that he passed in great debt after having some major contributions to comic books. RIP, thank you for all you did.

I’ve seen people complaining that Ultimate Black Panther is slow and nothing happens but I just finished the first volume and that was phenomenal. There’s a good amount of action with lots of worldbuilding and forward motion. Also loved Ultimate X-Men vol 1, Peach Momoko is a generational talent.

Upon rewatching, the first Mission: Impossible is way better than I remembered and M:I II is somehow even worse than I remembered. (The ridiculous action at the end gets me though, I do love that)

I hate copaganda as much as the next guy but sometimes these two detectives are the only people the other one has and they’re the only ones in the world that understand each other and something about that just hits right idk.

For people who are upset about the choices Mark is making right now in Invincible, you are correct. He’s making moral judgements as if he’s in a big two comic where you can trust Commissioner Gordon or web up the bad guys for the cops. He believes in the system. He doesn’t have room for nuance yet.

The terrible Korra discourse happening right now is reminding me that people who don’t read marvel or dc comics don’t get that when the old Avatar cycle is lost or Korra abandons her role as bridge to the spirit world, you don’t hate the character, instead you blame the writers and keep it pushing.

A fun Easter egg in Spider-Man No Way Home happens during the scene where Willem DaFoe’s Norman Osborn says there’s no Oscorp in the MCU. If you listen closely, you can actually hear me put my fist through the AMC recliner I was sitting in and the anguished cry I let out.

I still really love Gritty, I love that when he was unveiled, Philadelphia was like, "What the fuck", the world replied, "Yeah, what the fuck" and then Philadelphia said, "Hey, don't you talk that way about our Gritty"
If Gritty can still fly the pride flag so can we

A lot of the old dystopian novels seem positively whimsical now. Reading Vonnegut and thinking, “Yeah man, I wish.”
