If you do the same thing as the far right then you too are far right
What is the point of “heading off a challenge from Reform” if a Labour government does exactly the same things as Farage?

Luckily for Labour the voters are never wrong when it’s they’re asking for more racism but unfortunately the voters are always wrong when they’re asking for nationalising public services and utilities

Now tackle unregulated commercial rents, business rates, energy costs, and inadequate public transport, because that's what's actually choking hospitality and small businesses. Oh, and the fact that no one has any money to spend in them.

Of course ReformUK would abolish inheritance tax. It's paid by the super wealthy - less than 4% of British people ever pay it. We complain that the super rich don't pay enough tax and here's Farage trying to get them out of another one.

Have spent much of my life trying to find people who can be worked with as a left winger but much of the liberal left are committed to the idea that political efficacy and progress are achieved by conceding to the right in some way and that's the way it's been since I got active (Blair era).
It’s vital for the Left to make the case to opponents but there is also a good reason some don’t want to “work with rivals.” Many on the right don’t just hold different opinions, they don’t share basic values. You’re not intolerant if you won’t work with a racist. www.theguardian.com/politics/202...
