I’m surprised more people aren’t talking about Don Jr receiving a massive loan for his startup from the Pentagon. I guess when there’s so much corruption some things fly under the radar?

For starters, it projects confidence about recovering a governing majority, which GOP poll readers already fear is baked in.

It also terrifies the rank and file that Trump depends on. Like, we will *hunt* you levels of fear. This drives the risk of insubordination up, and chances of success down.

Coming around to the view that impeachment is performative bullshit that actually signals weakness, not strength, because it’s such dead letter.

The way to signal strength, exercise power, and strike fear into the hearts of the enemy is visibly gearing up for mass prosecutions.

Q: So you didn't see any survivors after that first strike?

HEGSETH: I did not personally see survivors. The thing was on fire. This is called the fog of war. This is what you in the press don't understand. You sit in your air conditioned offices and plant fake stories in the Washington Post

That is not at all what the term "The Fog of War" refers to. The term was coined in 1937 and referred to how imprecise information is on a battlefield due to inefficient communication and the chaos of how busy a real battlefield is. He was sitting in an air conditioned office watching high /1

deference to the executive branch when it claims war powers, which dramatically reduces judicial oversight. The political logic is simple: a foreign conflict is being used as a pretext to unlock a domestic tool that normally would be unconstitutional to deploy at scale.

Lets explain how escalating/manufacturing a military confrontation with Venezuela gives the administration a legal “hook” to invoke the Alien Enemies Act of 1798, one of the oldest national-security laws still on the books. This statute allows a president to detain, restrict, or deport non-citizens

There are specific reasons Trumpists want war on Venezuela, but there‘s a generic one: they crave power to make war on anyone, any time, for completely fabricated reasons, and then to use the guise of war to increase violence and repression everywhere, including home.

They are lawless bestial scum.
