If you're thinking about fiction to nominate from this year's crop, I'd love for you to consider my fairy-tale retelling, "Finer than Silk, Brighter than Snow," published in @uncannymagazine.bsky.social. :)

Good morning! Have you checked out the queer shenanigans of the #NeoG yet? Hyper-competent space opera for the 21st century. (aka this is not your father's military science fiction)

#Booksky 🌈📚💙
Space opera standalones for everybody! A little bit of hope, a little bit of sports, a whole lot of competence, and even more queer shenanigans.

They said write your own if you don't see yourself in what you read. So I did. Come join the #NeoG, hopeful spacepunk for difficult times.

every few years it's revealed that the NYT was sitting on information about some horrific thing that public knowledge of would have changed the country's course and for some reason a ton of people still give them money. you can play those games on other sites

I need everyone who uses AI to generate art & text to notice what Vince Gilligan says here. You're surrendering your brain, your creativity, the divine spark within you to a machine. Someday you'll wake up and find you're no longer capable of writing or thinking. And for what?

This trip just became a bit more scuffed, so any little bit would be a great help! Thank you so much for all of your support already!
So it would appear I’m headed to PAX Unplugged to promote GRAYSHADE! If you’re gonna be there, feel free to say hi if you see me!

But also: as this trip is kinda scuffed, I can use some help handling incidentals as I travel! Any assistance is appreciated! ko-fi.com/therisingtit...

every part of mamdani's victory speech was a triumph of speechwriting, but opening with a debbs quote and the whole crowd cheering at the attribution—jaw on the floor, in the best way. wow. wowowow. what a tone to set. my heart is so full 💖

There’s no reason ever again for any Democrat to suggest moderating on trans rights. There was never a moral reason but now there’s no political reason either.

Somebody tell Gavin Newsom and Pete Buttigieg. it’s joe-ver.

this is a fun one because actually like how unpopular of a sitting VP do you have to be to offer absolutely zero boost to a relative's election chances
JD Vance's half-brother has lost by an overwhelming margin as he tried to become the mayor of Cincinnati.

Democratic incumbent Aftab Pureval wins reelection.

if Teen Vogue as we know it dies today, I hope its team know in their hearts that they did more to champion democracy and freedom of speech and to mobilize citizens of all ages toward progressive causes than all the pundits at legacy outlets who sneered at the notion of wanting teens to be informed
