I made an infographic map. Oxford's Congestion Charge scheme (from 29th Oct) is not like most congestion charge schemes, because you can get to most streets in the city without being charged. My impression is a lot of people haven't realised this.

I strongly support #visionzero and the city and county commitments to this goal, and the county policy of rolling out 20mph zones. The congestion charge in #oxford will help us towards Vision Zero.
At today's Road Safety GB National Road Safety Conf #20splenty will be presenting on how "Setting 20mph as an urban/village norm has the power to deliver one of the quickest wins for the UK and in particular England and Northern Ireland".

Today the #congestion charge went live in #oxford delivering incentives for behaviour change to get more people out of private vehicles and on to public transport. Delivering more and better bus routes for everyone and investments in sustainable travel. Thanks to the @libdemsoxon.bsky.social

I recently spoke in Parliament about the impact of pavement parking—a concern I hear often from constituents with disabilities, sight loss or mobility aids.
It makes everyday journeys harder and more dangerous. Councils need proper powers to act.
Everyone deserves safe, accessible streets

I am proud of the bold leadership taken by my @libdemsoxon.bsky.social colleagues today. Thank you for approving this pilot congestion charge for #oxford #climateaction
Oxford is to get a congestion charge of £5 per car per day, starting this autumn. Charges will be levied for driving past one of six camera sites. The decision, intended to accelerate bus services and encourage cycling/walking, was taken at an Oxfordshire County Council cabinet meeting this morning.
