lol my gynae’s receptionist just signed off our call with “see you next Tuesday”. Indeed. 🤣

It’s deeply unfair that I have the sense of humour of a 14yo boy but am stuck in the body of this middle-aged woman.

I appreciate a silly bird name (*side-eyes boobies*) but narina trogon is the most bird-sounding bird name. You know when you’re not into birds and someone who is into birds identifies one… “ah yes that’s the tanshrhisnsnks”… it all sounds like narina trogon. Yes. That’s the skeet.

Why do all the high fantasy dwarves need to have a Scottish accent? Feel like some of them could be Afrikaans or whatever.

It’s been at least 25 years of turmoil, living under the tyranny of The Game. At last, I am free. I share the good news with you - unshackle yourselves, weary friends.

Here’s a brief interview in which I try to sound vaguely astute, talking about a #shortstory I wrote in the latest Short.Sharp.Stories anthology - www.litnet.co.za/short-sharp-...

Well this feels disrespectful now 😬 RIP Ozzy 🤘
The guitar riff on Crazy Train deserves a better song than Crazy Train.

Here with a 45 year old reference, and opinion no one asked for.

I saw a post somewhere that called this the “Algernonification” of the web ‼️
Google (2005): you can find anything on the web!

Google (2015): yeah, you can find stuff, but it's right there, sponsored, click that one!

Google (2025): I can still spell check but not reliably

Any FB experts here? I’m part of a freelancers group who have lost access to their FB page. Exactly why this happened pre-dates the current Exco but we’d like admin control back and the page is totally dormant. FB’s “help centre” is spectacularly useless on this and there seems to be no option…

I’m going to need someone to spoil this season of America for me. I need to know where we (the world) are heading as a result (macro scale). Is it Fallout or Silo or Tank Girl or something else? And timescale? Should I spend my savings now?

Why do we use the term “fertility rates” and not “births”? The former feels like a health crisis, as opposed to a series of choices and consequences resulting from current conditions. Asking as one who grew up in the 90s when people were clutching their pearls about overpopulation…

The New York Times covers trans issues the way Fox News covers ICE protests.

Both lead the country to believe there is a conflagration by highlighting a few fires over and over, while ignoring the fact that most people just want to live their lives without the government in their faces.
