For some clarification here when Trump releases the executive order to eliminate the Department of Education, it does not eliminate the Department of Education. Congress needs to do that and they do not (currently) have the votes or support to do so.

The executive branch does not have the legal right to cancel appropriated spending or eliminate agencies created by Congress.
Trump and Musk are doing both. Entirely lawless and unconstitutional.

Staff tell me, "It is frightening being inside USAID right now. Our checks and balances failed. Congress has abdicated its responsibilities.”

And Sec. Rubio has abdicated his.
New — USAID staff received an email just a few minutes ago letting them know HQ would be closed to all personnel Monday. It’s likely some employees will miss the overnight email, show up and be turned away.

It was sent by Gavin Kliger, one of the young guys at DOGE doing Musk’s bidding.
