The Greens have secured enviro laws with new protections for native forests & stopped Labor from fast-tracking coal & gas.

We’ve got outcomes that forest campaigners have fought for across decades.

We’ve made it harder for big corporations to keep wrecking our environment.

The Federal Greens have secured significant improvements to Australia’s environment laws that will provide new protections for native forests, better regulate land clearing and stop Labor’s 30 day fast-track of coal and gas projects.

From 25 November, renters have new rights that the Greens have been fighting for! Check out what's changed.

What else would make renting fair and affordable for you?

Something you might have missed this month: the new Emissions Gap report from the UN is another indictment on Labor’s climate inaction.

UN report: Global climate ambitions 'off target' – DW – 11/04/2025
A new UN report shows that global temperatures continue to rise despite a slight slowdown in emissions. It reiterates the call for countries to be more ambitious on climate action.

Rental affordability is getting worse (or continuing at the same level of bad) in every part of Australia... except the ACT. The difference there? They introduced rent controls 4 years ago when the Greens were in government with Labor! Full article via @abcnewsbot.bsky.social

The declaration of central Melbourne as a "designated area" for 6 months is a disturbing overreach. This declaration gives police extraordinary powers to stop and search people without a warrant, or even reasonable grounds - and over an unprecedented area and timeframe 🧵(1/3)

Today is #WorldSustainableTransportDay!

The Greens have recently negotiated $150 million for walking and cycling infrastructure in five of Melbourne's most congested councils - which will give more people a clean, healthy and affordable way to get around!

Labor is trying to crush peaceful protest - because peaceful protest gets results.

The Greens will always defend it - for the same reason.

Five of our most congested councils will receive a $15 million boost every year for the next decade to make our inner city safer for walking & riding.

This will make a massive difference to delivering the infrastructure that people need to bike, walk and catch public transport.

Check out climate activism lab Rouser's costume! Made of chains, locks, and other materials Labor's anti-protest laws will ban.
Creativity & art have always been part of our protest movements in Victoria - Labor is setting out to stifle democracy with their draconian laws.

Great to receive the petition from St Kilda Primary School community rep Michael recently, that over 3500 community members have signed online or on paper.
St Kilda Primary needs a sports and community hall, and it’s long overdue!

If Labor was serious about community safety, they'd invest in preventing harm before it happens, not in locking up kids for life.

Instead, Labor is cutting funding to crime prevention, mental health and youth services - the very supports that keep communities safe. (2/2)

Vic Labor’s plan to introduce life sentences for children isn’t about safety. It’s reactionary, conservative politics that ignores evidence.

Experts are clear: harsher sentences lead to more reoffending, not less. (1/2)

Cutting crime prevention programs while crowing about locking up kids for life - just to win votes - is a new low for Labor and Premier Jacinta Allan.

Even Labor Ministers have admitted that this decision was made purely to win votes at the next election.

This decision is all about politics - not about outcomes,

Experts in youth crime are reeling after Labor's announcement yesterday (that some 14 year olds could be sent to prison for 20 years to life) because they’ve been crying out for Labor to invest in programs that work to reduce crime. Instead, Labor has cut them.

The Jacinta Allan Labor Government’s decision to introduce life sentences for children proves once again that Labor is only interested in cynical attempts to look tough - not implementing policies that actually work to improve community safety. 🧵 (1/4)

Today's Infrastructure Victoria 30-year strategy repeats their recommendation from August to increase community health funding from 0.3% to 3% of the state's health infrastructure budget

Community health is a vital service and saves $14 for every $1 invested. It must be funded properly

Solomone Taufe'ulungaki’s death was a tragedy. We need a whole-of-community approach to justice that includes working with communities and properly funding prevention and diversion programs, to prevent more of these tragedies before they happen.

Priority seating on trams is important, but the system only works if people are aware of it.

I've asked the Minister to ensure signs about priority seating are clear and at eye level, so those seats are available for those who rely on them.

Has your rent been hiked lately? We want to hear from you.

According to Tenants Victoria 80% of rentals have had their rent increased in the past 2 years.

That’s why we’re gathering rent hike stories to take straight to the government. (1/2)
