These numbers are embarrassingly low. Only the Baltic countries and the Scandinavian countries are really doing much noteworthy. This is the most important war for the west in most of our lifetimes (unless you are 80+ years old) and the Ukrainians are bravely fighting on all of our behalfs.

No reason for Trump to continue to threaten NATO countries. Every non-US NATO country except Croatia, has massively increased defense spending over the last 10 years and most countries now exceed the required 2% of GDP. I made the graph with official numbers from www.nato.int.

Too many people on here act as if being a billionaire must mean that you are a bad person. It doesn't, but what we DO need to ask ourselves is whether it is healthy for society at large that some people are richer and more powerful than whole nations. It is not, but there are no easy fixes to this.

100% enig med udenrigsministeren. Morten Messerschmidt går Putins ærinde her, ligesom så mange andre højrepopulister rundt omkring i vesten. Trist at se.

DF-formandens opråb til regeringen om at ændre kurs over for Ukraine kommer på det værst tænkelige tidspunkt, mener udenrigsministeren.

To those talking about taking the moral high ground, I am not totally convinced that the moral high ground is to let your political opponents prosecute your son to get back at you, when you have the power to prevent it. It is definitely not a black/white issue.

These types of strong man bullying tactics can work short-term because of the immense US power position, but creates resentment towards the US and will undermine US power in the long term. The US should focus on creating stronger alliances for the sake of peace and prosperity, not weaken them.

Listen, Pete Hegseth obviously shouldn't be secretary of defense, but we should not forget that Gabbard and Kennedy are both infinitely more dangerous. The problem is that the more candidates Trump has to withdraw the harder it will be to get republicans in the senate to reject further candidates.

The fact that Kamala lost the election does not necessarily mean that her strategy was wrong and it most certainly does not mean that YOUR preferred strategy would have worked or that YOUR preferred candidate would have won. Finally, it absolutely does not mean that Democrats wanted to lose. #USPOL

Would you buy a car from the Trump organization? Of course not, so why are you buying Teslas from Trumps biggest fluffer? If there ever was a time to boycot a product this is it. And if climate-denying MAGA morons respond by buying Tesla EV's to own the libs, then I'll notch that up as a win.

Well, we definitely need somebody high profile to run. Susan Collins has proven tough to oust. Even in 2020, when Dems won the presidency and did well overall, Collins still beat Sara Gideon (D) by more than 8%-points. Maine is also one of the only realistic pickups for D's in the coming years.

Election analysis and taking a policy stance are two different things. Too many on the left get really defensive when you suggest that an issue they care about is a losing issue for democrats. I readily recognize that PLENTY of issues I care about are losing issues.

Aid to Ukraine by % of GDP up until the end of august 24. The US is the largest donor in absolute value, but very low relative to GDP. The 3 "great powers" of Europe should basically be ashamed. Only Scandinavia and Eastern Europe seem to really take this seriously.
