Councilmember Ysabel Jurado has introduced a motion to protect journalists covering protests. The motion: LAPD will create a public campaign on how to obtain LAPD-issued press passes along w/ signing MoUs between press groups and the city to create an agreement on conduct at protests.

What’s happen to left media since Elon bought Twitter is tragic. Teen Vogue was one of the few mainstream places that I could write. And while I still had to use coded language to get past the copy editors, I had the liberty to discuss ideas that weren’t welcomed elsewhere, and that will be a loss.

the thing about these kinds of court orders is that they present as attempts to correct or curb the abuse of authoritarian power, while actually giving it a method to continue unabated. "Without warning" is not an actual limit on use of tear gas - but the judge gets to appear as a check to power
Judge Sara Ellis earlier this month forbade agents from using gas and other “riot control” weapons without warning, but attorneys claim the feds are “simply ignoring” her order.
