My first special interest was primatology which led me to Jane Goodall - a monumental role model in my life (second only to my dad). Even as I shifted from primatology to neuro, she is the spark that ignited my passion for science and reverence for the world. I know I'm just one of many she impacted

I just saw some people whose house I went to for board game nights ~6-7 years ago and they remembered me as "the friend of [a friend] who likes cephalopods." I'm so honoured, if I'm going to be remembered for something I'm happy with that being my legacy

Of the 4000 researchers at NIH, only 20% are tenured. They’re going to fire all the rest as their contracts come up for renewal, absolutely decimating research at the NIH. This is catastrophic, not just for Americans, but for the whole world.
