Currently working for his family’s cafe/bakery. He lives in the apartment above. His family banded together and raised enough money to create a fully accessible kitchen and eating area for their shop, alongside an accessible door, check-out area, etc. They now are one of the most accessible Cafe/Bakeries in the entire area and see a lot of disabled patrons and regulars! Has a little brother, Najib (9) Who hangs around him a lot and wants to help out as well. He even created a small garden just for his little brother to feel like he helps out, and Najib loves it! They are very close. Saads’ injuries are from violence of the occupation of Palestine, he sustained while protecting his younger brother Najib. Both him and his brother were injured, but made recoveries extremely well. They moved in with their extended family in the US shortly after Injuries. They plan on opening a bakery/cafe in Palestine once it is free. Friends are W.I.P. Currently a 4th Grade Elementary student at his local school. Is in ESL (English as a Second Language) and has an IEP (Individualized Education Program) due to his mental health and physical health. He struggles with math and reading, but excels at science and history. Saad and his extended family built a small raised garden for Najib to help with his mental health and his feeling of belonging. Najib absolutely adores it and spends a lot of his extra time there, relaxing. Najib helps around the Cafe/Bakery quite often, cleaning things up or handing someone ingredients to use. Saad got injured at the same time as him, The violent occupation had set fires around his home, and he got stuck trying to get out. Saad found him and tried to pick him up and run to safety, as they ran, they were shot at and Saad had a bullet lodged in his T8 Spine. Others around them found them on the ground and carried them both to safety and got them immediate medical attention as soon as they possibly could. Very little after, extended family got them both sent to the US, and they continued to heal with the comfort of their family. Najib is very close to Saad, and often can feel very scared when he isn’t around him. He experiences separation anxiety due to this, and often has panic attacks or flashbacks. Saad is very accommodating to his younger brother and is very hellbent on never letting anything happen to him again. They plan on opening their own bakery/cafe, just Najib and Saad, in Palestine when it’s free.
