This is pretty much my takeaway.
It isn’t a Stephen Glass situation, which felt like an outlier event. Nuzzi is pretty clearly the product of a system that rewards unethical conduct while neglecting, punishing, or ignoring real journalism. So it’s the leadership and culture that’s the problem.

I hope that this doesn't just become about "Nuzzi is bad" but fosters a wider recognition that our culture of political journalism that didn't just tolerate her, but promoted and celebrated her even after the allegations were known, is rotten to the core and has been for a long time.

Naomi Klein has always been prescient and precise in her analysis, but this is particularly striking. She noticed the ‘brain bubble’ phenomenon in 2009 and now it feels like we’re on the other side of it as we witness the true stupidity of so many imagined geniuses.
