All of us @ Housing Rights are deeply troubled by the ongoing disorder and the impact this has in our community. No one should feel they need to leave their home to be safe.

We’ve been reaching out to support advice orgs working in areas most affected & we stand in solidarity with anyone affected

Solidarity with everyone caught up in racist attacks over the past year.

We all have a responsibility to challenge the narrative about immigration which is an ugly undercurrent to this. A reminder of our statement last year during the height of the violence www.housingrights.org.uk/professional...

“If 1 in 4 children living in poverty isn’t a wake up call for the NI Executive, it’s hard to think what might be” Great to hear Ursula O’Hare, the Head of NI @jrf-uk.bsky.social on Radio Ulster. Ursula calling for outcome focussed, target driven, cross Departmental anti poverty strategy

What a fantastic day in the MAC at our Legislative Theatre event on domestic abuse and homelessness. Huge thanks to the incredibly talented group of women who co-created and performed such a powerful play based on their first-hand experiences of domestic abuse and homelessness.

The law is changing around rent increases in the private rented sector.

From 1st April 2025, Landlords can only increase rents once in any 12-month period and must give a 3-month written notice.

Many of our members live alone or are single parents. This means they must cover the cost of #risingrents with one income.

Would you be able to afford these rents?👀

Good to join the online launch for this report today.

Key takeaway- change is possible.

Child poverty is projected to fall in Scotland (and rise elsewhere) because of policy decisions made by Scot govt. The NI Executive was once also brave on welfare mitigations.

Now, what can we do next??
4.3 million children are in poverty

UK govt won’t see progress on child poverty by 2029 even with high economic growth 📢

Our analysis shows under our central scenario only Scotland will see child poverty rates fall by 2029 in part due to social security policies 1/5
