Waiting for the crazy to go away and normal service to resume.
Pack curators….where are the starter packs that balance out the wild and somewhat crazy political skeets, dominating my feed?

@teamlabouruk.bsky.social more indications the economic path we are on is not the best path available. I wonder if we can find a market nearby that could be a big boost for growth. To be clear. A market that starts less than 100 miles from our shores. Have you perhaps looked eastward on the map?
Stagflation alert.

The Bank of England has cut interest rates to 4.5%, halved its UK growth forecasts for the year and warned households would face renewed pressure from rising prices.

2025 growth forecasts are now 0.75%, down from the 1.5% estimated in November.

There does seem to be a growing consensus that Labour needs to adapt its approach to managing disinformation and defending a value system that makes Britain a place of hope and opportunity. Is this narrative being assembled in the background, or do we hope in vain?
🔥 This.

“Labour cannot simply manage the status quo. To defeat Mr Farage’s sham politics, it must offer more than technocratic governance. Without a compelling vision, including one for Britain’s place in Europe, it risks being outflanked”

Perfectly put in @theguardian.com

Editorial: Sir Keir Starmer’s caution has yet to persuade voters, while discontent fuels a resurgent right that thrives by boosting anti-immigrant, climate-sceptic views

Please help us understand. We are facing chaos and insanity from the US, GB economy and ability to fund public serv’s is in trouble, you want growth but feel we hold all the cards. You must have a plan to have this level of confidence, share it?
“No return to the customs union, to the single market or to free movement and that remains the case” says Home Secretary Yvette Cooper

It’s simply impossible to reconcile the governments stubborn & entrenched position on Brexit with its policy of “growth, growth, growth”

I do wonder what it is that they know that we don’t, that we haven’t been told about this magical growth plan that ignores the biggest market in our geography, and the £100bn hit we have taken to GDP as reported a few times. What is it? Can we be told, can it be cleared o so we can get behind it?

A question for the leading voices for fact and good sense. Is there a reliable source of facts we can use to counteract the misinformation and rage baiting from some parts of the political and media classes? @peterjukes.bsky.social @mikegalsworthy.bsky.social

Please retweet if you want the Labour government to do its utmost to restore the Freedom of Movement that was robbed from us by the worst abuses of democracy in modern British history.

Deactivated Twitter…

“Society rejects that which it finds unacceptable…”
May this be the beginning. My profile was the definition of insignificant but it’s now another user off the site.

Determined to keep this space positive, so I ask in a constructive sense. Who else is frustrated with the lack of value for money on our train, mobile companies, water and power companies - in the UK?
Impossible to rely on mobile signal on almost any train trip. Trains rammed, dirty and expensive…

Still trying to break the connection to the other place, more frequently here now and just realised how negative the fire hose has become when I was mildly annoyed to find a recipe in my feed…checked my attitude and was reminded that was the way it was. Rich, mixed, interesting. Happy me.
