No nation can keep its republic if constitutional conservatives don’t join with liberals, progressives, & libertarians in common cause to prevent far-right parties from abusing power.

The USA is at dire risk.
Americans will need to find common cause to overcome our domestic authoritarian movement.

And still pay no taxes?
The federal government helped Musk become the world's richest man and now he is hellbent on destroying that government, throwing good people out of work, and adding to his billions.

Feel sorry for those having a long weekend away from work emails. To read work email on weekends is not good work life balance.
Efficient it is not. Memeworthy it would be if lives were not in the balance.

So sad that so many good people are in this administration. Thank you to those who upholding standards and professionalism.
Maybe the better phrasing… I trust the fed gov. I do not trust this admin to be custodians of that data.

If they believe in fairness, why do they fire people without cause? If they believe in not being biased, why do they dismiss employees who do not agree with their politics? This administration is two-faced and liars. There I said it.

Where will our future civil servants come from? Yet again questioning the US future as a democracy. 🤔
The Trump administration ended the Presidential Management Fellows Program in a late-night executive order Wednesday, axing a decades-old government initiative that has long been celebrated as a pipeline to draw talent into civil service careers.

If you are curious about the End of Term Crawl this post goes into detail. #datarescue
Some level of change occurs with every administration. However, with the rapid wholesale deletion of content we have been seeing in the last month, there is a heightened sense of urgency to get things nominated. And there’s also the fact that crawls aren’t the best method for capturing datasets.

My guess is that Elon Musk never heard of the GAO
I want to see an interview with the Comptroller General of the United States.

The GAO's competence is being attacked every day (if not by name), giving its leader a chance to defend their work isn't a partisan issue.
I feel like I'm going insane every time I see a media story about DOGE that doesn't also mention the fact that the Government Accountability Office exists and performs the exact function that DOGE pretends to, only in a credibly constitutional, non-partisan, and conflict-of-interest-free manner

The relevant precedent to DOGE isn’t Gore’s National Performance Review or the Truman Committee: it’s the War Production Board & “dollar/year men” the Truman Commitee investigated. Corrupt CEOs are literally why ethics laws for “Special Government Employees” exist today.
Congress must enforce them.
The Truman Committee showed Americans why Congress must not ignore the world’s wealthiest “dollar a year man” at DOGE
Good afternoon from Washington, where yesterday’s snowfall is melting faster than ethics standards and watchdogs in the Trump administration. Glad to see more folks subscribing to Civic Texts today: ...
