even in an ICE detention center people will treat art as sacred, seek it out, and find joy and comfort in it. You aren’t making art, you’re making hope.

Can't agree with this more. I get asked this a lot in the PH, where most people never even imagined working in comics full time. For us, it's the stuff dreams are made of.

The entire community thrives on the backs of creators who love the form so much they continue making it despite all the odds.
