Elon threatening to just leave people on the ISS is making a pretty good case for why you nationalize your space program!

Something I’m enjoying is watching the right try and make this situation “masculine” when it is two extremely catty and weak-seeming people having a petty, messy and passive aggressive argument in public, refusing to talk to each other at all
u know i had heard how weirdly macho and masculine obsessed the right could be about issues

but holy shit lol

hello bluesky hivemind! i've heard some, uh, *troubling* details from an FAA source but since i don't traditionally report on this agency, i am in need of additional sources to speak with. if this is you or somebody you know...can you help a reporter out (@cwarzel.92 on signal). many thanks.

great column @MuseZack and i agree! i didn’t realize it was @steveasbell who originally said that amazing line “I got into all this because I love movies, but now I have this fear that my job is to ruin them.” ahahahaha

‘We had the same moral panic about TV’ is a common refrain when people bring up social media, but like, in terms of social-political impacts, it’s hard to not see the ‘moral panic’ about TV as at least partially vindicated! A reality TV star is president! He’s filling his admin with Fox News hosts!

Fascinating about them removing the language of the trial committee from the ballot measure. Seems like they put their finger on the scale every step of the way. Why were they so afraid of a fair vote?

this is a great question! i believe the Guild put their thumb on the scale at every step because they were prosecuting me for something that wasn’t against the rules in the first place. so then— instead of apologizing for their mistake—they just doubled down & broke the law over and over

i did this interview with The Hollywood Reporter immediately after the appeals vote came out. it’s pretty raw. i lost the vote by just 59 votes — by far the closest Guild vote i have ever seen (every other Guild vote is always over 90% in favor of the Board)

The normie lib boomer winemom neighborhood by The Grove has upside down American flags in yards and they're having protest organizing meetings/happy hour at each other's houses. Crazy to see the boomers mobilized against the government.
My cute lil residential neighborhood full of people with yards and gardens and cars and patio furniture has a LOT of upside down American flags flying on their porches next to more anodyne Pride flags and semi-typical Cascadia flags.

Instead of saying "Defund the Police," people should have just said:

"The police is operating at a net loss, so we're going to have to make some cuts."
NEW: The U.S. Postal Service posted a net loss of $3.3 billion in this fiscal year’s second quarter mainly due to “significant challenges out of our control,” including workers’ compensation costs, Luke Grossmann, USPS chief financial officer, said at the open session of the governing board meeting

If you didn’t know, there’s a race for governor in Jersey right now and Baraka is running. He jumped to the top of the ranks overnight.

Every Dem that stands up to Trump and becomes wildly popular is confirming what we’ve all been saying: voters don’t want Schumer-style leadership.
Did Baraka arrest just win him the N.J. Democratic primary for governor?
The Newark mayor's showdown with ICE has sent his profile soaring, even if it might alienate moderate voters.

In reading the WGA discipline against @juliebush.bsky.social , Edward John Drake and others, a concerning image emerges: a WGA board inserting itself into what are designed to be a fair trials by one's peers, weighing the scales against the accused and even secretly changing our constitution.

exactly. what they have done is a violation of federal labor law which holds that unions have to adhere to *their own Constitutions.* the General Counsel said the Board gets to interpret the Constitution however they want & guessed we wouldn’t have a quorum at an in person meeting

to dispute the misconception that i "asked for this popular vote," here is the demand letter i sent to the WGA Board on April 30 asking for the secret in person appeal at the annual member meeting that the WGA Constitution requires. the General Counsel refused it.

And my favorite part is that the WGA board changed the constitution to make this an online vote. but supposedly they were bound by the constitution in blasting the names of writers appealing before due process was complete. Potentially career ending.

For the WGA vote: I'm voting to adopt the alternative action proposed by the appellant. It seems like the board has lost sight. A trial committee chair (who also was a defense attorney) said this process was unfair. Something that the captains and board members refuse to acknowledge.
