Reports are coming in that Trump-era ICE agents have arrested even American-born citizens during raids. If you’re just heading to work or the grocery store, how would you prove you’re an American? This is getting out of hand—Americans have a right to privacy.

“The DHS Office of Intelligence and Analysis quietly updated its policy manual earlier this month, as first reported by Bloomberg, removing LGBTQ+ identities from the General Requirements section that prohibit surveillance based solely on immutable characteristics.”
Back in the mid-20th century, the FBI could place an individual under surveillance solely for being LGBTQ. This is what enabled the anti-queer witch hunts of the McCarthy era. Now, DHS permits surveillance of LGBTQ people again. Just being queer makes you a suspect. www.advocate.com/politics/dhs...

This is a nightmare scenario for trans people. If language like this gets into an HHS funding bill that becomes law, pretty much every hospital and doctor's office that treats trans people of any age would stop doing so.

This is the most extreme anti-trans push yet.
