The US Institute of Peace is an independent, non-profit institution. It is not a government agency. This means DOGE is expanding its attacks to the civil society sector, as we see in authoritarian states like China & Russia. Our democracy is under siege.

Everyone--EVERYONE--in higher education has to understand that this is Trump's plan for you, too: federal control over scholarship, curricula, discipline, admissions--everything. They want you to submit. Your only other option is to stand up, together.
