I was delighted to attend day one of the #UCHD2025 during which I presented an oral abstract on the social determinants of access and uptake of contraceptives among urban refugees in Uganda.

I appreciate the convenors, @cehurduganda and @MinofHealthUG

Someone said that money is the sixth sense that makes all the other senses (taste, touch, hearing, sight and smell) function.😂

The only concern about this bromance crash out is that it was easily predictable, but nevertheless, we enjoy and love the moment 😊

There is a worrying growing trend. Young heterosexual males are increasingly leaning towards extreme right wing ideologies. They are infact pushing anti gender stereotypes, misogyny & toxic masculinities thru online spaces.

I think we need to counter such narratives & rhetoric

Uganda works with multiple sides of the conflict in the eastern DRC to hedge & strengthen its sphere of influence.

Uganda's strategy proliferates the number of armed actors, injects regional competition into local conflicts, and complicates peace efforts.

Uganda has declared the end of Ebola disease outbreak, less than three months after the virus was confirmed.

Robust, coordinated response by the government, supported by WHO and partners, was critical in stopping the outbreak.

This is an obvious point, but cannot overstated. There is an enormous difference between deporting someone - where they get off a plane as a free citizen in their home country AND FUNNELING THEM INTO A BRUTAL PRISON FROM WHICH THEY HAVE NO CHANCE OF EVER EMERGING!!!

Trump dismantled DEI in the US and he is doing mass deportation of immigrants who are ofcourse majorly non white people.
But he is now criticizing South African land policy because it affects white people. He even offered them a refugee status.

Typical WHITE SUPREMACY

He dismantled USAID because he wants to put America first.
How is an executive order on South Africa putting America first?

This is racism and classism.

The Trump administration wants the US to permanently occupy Gaza?

So did people expect any much better from Trump yet he is Netanyahu’s flying monkey.

What a loss to the global reproductive health movement.
We are heartbroken to lose the indomitable force that is our former president, Cecile Richards. In her 12 devoted years of service to our org, she brought us to new heights in our health care, education, and advocacy work.

She was the embodiment of “Care, no matter what.”
