Is there a good name for effort absolutists? I'm looking at water softening for my coffee machine, and as is typical of the coffee world you very quickly descend into "if you're not installing an industrial filtration system you should probably give up on coffee all-together".

I think it's the reason you see his influence in so much queer and marginalised art now - his success was a banner to rally under that said, 'We are not few, we are just fragmented.'

When so much media refuses to look into the dark places it can sometimes feel like you're being gaslit. Lynches work was the remedy for that feeling.

Lynch took all the terror and chaos of a bottomless universe and somehow put it on screen. Art doesn't always have to explain a thing, sometimes it's enough to just point and say "yes, I see that weird shit too".
