Left-wing Christian, feminist ally, former editor-in-chief Cornerstone Magazine, communalist (Jesus People USA), lyricist (REZ Band), co-writer "Selling Satan: Mike Warnke and the Evangelical Media," rescuer of delapidated old MacBooks and Linux guy.
Paul de Kruif's 1926 "Microbe Hunters" (complete w the exact artwork below) tells of the heroic discovery of microbes and vaccines. I read it as a kid in the mid 1960s. Like all good science, vaccines are not the creation of one person, but hundreds. Thousands. RFKJr's worm eaten brain vs all that.

A frustrating thing for me right now is the media narrative that RFK Jr is just an “anti-vaxxer” when he has said so many crazy things about other stuff over the years. We compiled 10 nutty clips on various topics, which still barely scratches the surface. open.substack.com/pub/meidasto...

Past comments include denying AIDS and calling vaccinated children "damaged"

As a Christian activist... or just an activist period... how do set priorities beyond merely typing (as I'm doing now)? Do you march? Do you contribute $$ to activist organizations? And how do you prioritize between - for instance - marching for womens' rights and BLM marches?

Hey, look! It's the new Evangelical poster boy, covering for the amoral dude appointed by the bigger amoral dude. Nice work. And to think Bill Clinton got in trouble with these moral midgets for one intern.

What hobby do you pursue in this dark Drumph time to help comfort yourself? For me, fixing old cast-off laptops up with Linux is a soothing diversion. In the below case, a *really* sad HP (I did clean it up later from what looked like whiteout spilled on it.)

Trump hates the DOJ. That's because even as imperfect as it is, the DOJ does sometimes pursue justice for the least of these. Like this:

Deleted my Twitter account when Musk started dismantling that platform. Here I am on BlueSky. Hoping for a social media platform that is more about users than endlessly sifting our information. And hoping for a little more humanity, which tech ought to be able to generate.
