the problem is really that our political press literally does not know right from wrong anymore because they have trained themselves not to.
If you think your job is not to tell the truth but to "challenge your audience's assumptions" if the latter is in tension with the former then you're going to end up lying. bsky.app/profile/larr...
For my part, I would say that questioning the framing of some Times stories—for example, the highlighting of Trump’s putative emotions or the foregrounding of what he says (even when, as is often the case, what he says is false)—is not an indication that I want my “views validated.”

I love how they explain Trumps reasoning instead of pointing out its insane and baseless.
Trump today directed the Justice Department to investigate Epstein's connections to a number of high-profile people — including Bill Clinton — but also set J.P. Morgan in his crosshairs. Here's why.

Its a good point.
Whether it's garbage NYT left-bait or right wing flood-the-zone nonsense that we all pile on to, we are letting the wrong people set our overall information agenda in a very deep and fundamental way. And it's a very serious mistake.

Youngkin is such a dope. This is hilarious.
Normally it would take two thirds of legislators to do a special session in Virginia. But Youngkin called for a special session eighteen months ago to finish the budget, which they did, and then Democrats just refused to ever officially adjourn it. That's why they can meet now to move redistricting.

This is offensively, aggressively wrong about our history. The only times we've effected change is by going directly at the problem of racism.
Ignoring it is cowardice.
It’s always seemed to me that the more seriously you believe in the power of racism in American life the more that calls for a cautious strategy of downplaying race in your politics.
