I like bad tv shows and low poly pictures of frogs // I analyse young people for a living (PhD fellow, University of Copenhagen #UCPH)

Yoo we did it! After what feels like forever, my article on the role of social motivation in youth gambling has been published in International Gambling Studies! It’s open access www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.... #gambling #gamblingresearch #youthresearch
I just got my paper accepted for a journal! This is the first time I’ll be publishing a paper I wrote alone (which feels like a feat for a PhD student)

As a junior researcher, I’m of course happy that journals give me feedback and are interested in my articles , but a little part of me kinda wishes they’d just get rejected so I could write new articles instead of having to revise old ones a million times, you know?

I have to go to the university to print som stuff for exams, but I expect that it will be empty and that I will have a boring day. Let’s hope I’m proven wrong!

I just love putting on that automatic “I’m on holiday. I’ll get back to you when I’m back” e-mail. Like, I can just ignore all e-mails now ! Wow ! The freedom

All month, I’ve been wanting to read this book, so I’m so happy to have a train ride today so I can finally carve out some time for it! From a quick flip through, it’s packed with important arguments for my dissertation.

Logically, I know that my presentations aimed at industry should not have references, but it feels illegal so I sneak in small references anyway lol

Of course i didn’t have time to take pictures and write updates during the conference I was organising, but here are some moody photos from the Conference on Language, Norms and Digital Lives #UCPH

I knew planning a conference would take time and energy, but no one prepared me for the amount of e-mails #academia

I love when academia meets the “real world” without having to compromise! I was at the new video game exhibition which is a collaboration between the museum, an arcade bar, one of my colleagues and with texts translated by our English students, and it came together perfectly #AcademicSky

As a PhD student, many things claim my attention: teaching, events, meetings, journalists.
I am lucky to be at a department with a tradition for retreats where a physical, mental and temporal space for writing is provided, and I can spend time on what’s supposedly my main job: research #AcademicSky

I’m new here. What are the norms? Are we into low poly frogs, or what’s up?
(In order: RuneScape frog, Glover frog, Sims 4 frog and Scooby Doo frog)
