I've built a socioeconomic system that depends on everyone to do useful work and act ethically except the people at the top, who get unimaginable rewards for being antisocial frauds and criminals. And I think it will stand the test of time

Really grateful for all the thoughtful engagement and sharing of my keynote from last week. I firmly believe that the only way out of the crisis for TV is via open conversation seeking a sustainable and equitable future for all. Every crisis is an opportunity if we make it one.

I just watched 'City of Angels' for the first time and it has not aged well. On the plus side I now know what the hell The Goo Goo Dolls were singing about.

There is a gigantic crisis brewing in the creative industries - one of Britain's biggest exports, bigger than fishing and mining combined, bringing in millions and employing millions too. But the perception is that we're all middle-class dilettantes, so no one's interested...

When I was little, the U.S. military came to our home at gunpoint and took me and my family away. We were imprisoned for years in barbed wire camps simply because we were Japanese American. I have spent my life telling that story, hoping it would never be repeated.

“…television freelancers – many of whom are dependent on word of mouth to secure vanishingly rare jobs in an industry that has undergone a severe contraction in recent years – still felt “massive fear” about speaking out.”
Here’s the problem in a nutshell…

I ran a 65.5km ultramarathon and at the end I got a medal, a beer, and a 'Most Determined Runner' award. They were all very much appreciated. #VOGUM #runningpunks

We finished Andor, watched Rogue One, and now we're straight onto A New Hope. We're in danger of watching them all again.

I had to attend to a medical emergency today and I honestly think my years of working on Casualty actually helped. By the time the paramedics arrived, I already had ascertained all the information they needed and they even commended my wound dressing skills!

Mad how Seven of Nine spent pretty much her whole life as a bald borg yet, even though she had to be taught to eat and sleep, was immediately able to style her hair in a perfectly-coiffed chignon.

Last Saturday, I organised an 11km pub run, which took in eight of my favourite Cardiff drinking holes. Surprisingly, no one fell over or got hit by a car! Turns out the run in-between does sober you up a bit. It was a lot of fun.
