This must be the first Guardian story about Zohran Mamdani: a piece about when he was a rapper and got Madhur Jaffrey to lip-sync in one of his videos. The following year he quit the rap game to get elected to the New York State Assembly

In November hares come to wood edge. Most say this is for cover, for food. Yet more than one old countryman has told me they come to pay tribute to the wood itself, to have one last dance with the Moss Maidens before their cold sleeping. At twilight they feed and mutter omens. - #CLNolan

knows the meaning of existence. Trees, planets, rivers, time
know nothing else. They express it moment by moment as the universe.

If you happen to be canceling streaming services for whatever reason, maybe throw a few bucks to a creative's Patreon or Ko-fi. Many have monthly tiers starting as low as $1, which may not sound like much, but if they get enough sign-ups, it could be life-changing money for those living on the edge.

My latest print: CRUMPLE
The first thing I drew after Lily died.

Interestingly, the only people to buy these prints at the last couple markets I worked were traditionally masc dudes, and I had nice conversations about grief and the bodily experience of it with them. Not really sure why that is.

Some poems alter a person. For instance: the manner in which I enjoy peanut butter has been forever changed
happy #smallpoemsunday! 💜

if you feel so inclined, you can post small poems you wrote +/or small poems you love by someone else :)

here’s one by me, originally published in @havehashad.com — it’s also the shortest poem collected in A Letter From The Mountain & Other Poems 💌⛰️

I think there's a kind of desperate hope built into poetry that one really wants, hopelessly, to save the world. One is trying to say everything that can be said for the things that one loves while there's still time.—W. S. Merwin

Happy May 1st. The value of your labor belongs to you and the actions of the state are best understood as as a coordinated effort to distract you from this. The state fears an organized and unified proletariat like it fears death and rightly so. Power to the workers and power to the people
