Listen, Durbin's retiring so he doesn't care, but we gotta make this what he's remembered for - selling us out. No speaking engagements or commentating gigs. Don't vote for his endorsements. I don't even want Tammy Duckworth to take him out for a retirement lunch. Let him live with his shame.

How about we shut down the government for this very popular and specific goal and then, hear me out, we hold out for like a month and a half and then, ok this part is important, after a watershed election where we ran the table, ONLY THEN, fold and don't get the one thing we said we wanted.

State and local.

Today is a good reminder that state and local matter as much as federal.

Vote in every election.

As a Chicagoan there's nothing I hate more than having to care about what's happening in New York City, but just for tonight, I'm happy for them.

We're all going to write pieces about what you can learn from tonight but it's actually pretty simple: The frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Young people in NYC absolutely showed out and there should be 1000 articles and profiles about this. Because we have had to put up with 1000 MAGA diner stories for years now.

The passage of CA Prop 50 wraps a big night on the democracy/voting rights front. In addition to Prop 50, most notably: ME rejected voting restrictions, PA preserved its liberal supreme court majority, and VA cleared a path to end its Jim Crow-era system of lifetime felony disenfranchisement.

The U.S, population is estimated by most to be ~347 million people.

Early estimates claim ~7 million people attended the No Kings protests today.

That’s 2% of the U.S. population.

Keep it up!
