Three masked agents questioned an Illinois Department of Transportation employee about his immigration status — and if he had traveled to New York and was “aware” of the mayor-elect in New York City, the governor’s office said.

The biggest reason for longer waits is staffing shortages, which are driven by more people leaving healthcare practice than entering, esp nursing, due to bad management practices (often related to private equity).

This administration’s immigration policies will significantly worsen these shortages.

Your 3-year-old child is unresponsive and seizing; do you:

A) call 911

or

B) talk to an AI chatbot that will tell you everything is fine and delay appropriate treatment until he gets worse?

This is insane. $40 billion cut to HHS. 40% of NIH budget will be gone, 27 institutes will shrink down to 8. 44% of CDC budget will disappear, all work on chronic diseases will cease. Head Start will be eliminated.

SO PEOPLE WILL DIE because we want to give billionaires their tax cuts.

HHS would be asked to absorb a $40 billion cut, about one-third of its discretionary budget.

My best friends' daughter is 3 and needs a bone marrow transplant. Anyone in the US 18-40 can text this number for a free cheek swab. If you're not a match for her, you could be a match for someone else.

Times are tough, but we'll help each other. That's what we do.

Sharing for anyone able to donate to the bone marrow registry that we have a way to sign up from anywhere that honors my daughter, Ava, who is battling her second bone marrow cancer.

A 5-yr-old burned to death in a sealed glass coffin of pressurized oxygen that an “alternative medicine” wellness center claimed could treat his ADHD. This was a cash business providing unapproved therapies. There is no evidence to support hyperbaric for ADHD; there’s not even a plausible mechanism.

For those who don’t know, 37% of Medicaid enrollees are children. It is an essential coverage for those with childhood cancer like my own 3 year old daughter. Take some time to learn how our system works and what societal needs programs like Medicaid actually solve that others can’t or won’t.

Measles requires 95% vaccination rates for herd immunity.

It has a 16.2% case fatality rate for unvaccinated children under 5 years and 24% for children under 9 months (who are unable to be vaccinated).

30% of the survivors experience severe complications like blindness, deafness, or encephalitis.
These are the vaccination rates of kindergartners by state. It takes 95% coverage of MMR vaccine to prevent measles outbreaks & most states are not achieving it. I fear that under the new administration rates will drop even further and we will start to see preventable illness, disability, and death

We need to stop saying “sacroiliac joint dysfunction” as this implies “abnormal alignment or movement” (Dixit, 2025). This is not what we see.

Instead, SIJ pain (outpatient) or in the few cases where radiological evidence +/- labs support, sacroiliitis, or fracture/dislocation.
