1. This federal-Alberta pipeline MOU is even worse than I expected. Even before we get to the pipeline:
- exempts AB from net zero electricity reg (AB produces 44% of all electricity-related GHGs in Canada).
- delays methane reg by 5 years (75% redn by 2035 rather than 2030.

After the $100M privatization boondoggle...

"...AHS took over provincial laboratory testing and returned Alberta to a fully public model. By December, 2023, patient waiting times were reduced by 76%."

The same day as this report is released, UCP announced more privatization.

We need to draft new legislation to include a “Cannot-stand-it” or a “not-going-to-stand-for-it” clause to combat the UCP’s misuse of the notwithstanding clause.

Don’t be fooled by the efforts of Guthrie & Sinclair to distance themselves from the UCP. They supported this use of the notwithstanding clause today. They are the same as the UCP and their efforts to rename and activate a new “progressive conservative” party will not hide that fact.
Supported by all UCP members present (36) and independents Pete Guthrie and Scott Sinclair.

Opposed by 35 NDP MLAs.

Hi Bluesky 👋

Small life update: I’m at the centre of a multimillion dollar lawsuit in Alberta launched by a failed candidate for Jason Kenney’s UCP

It may be the longest and most expensive media trial in Canadian history

I’m ready to go public about it and I want to share more details with you 🧵

I obtained leaked messages showing Caylan Ford making controversial statements about race, immigration and white supremacist terrorism

Today Elections Alberta requested $13.5 million to be able to administer recalls and referendum.

The UCP committee in charge revised their request to just over $1 million.

And then voted it through.

The UCP just defunded recall/referendum.
