A lot of leftist commentators have a pathological desire to have their movement validated by a big white guy who has blue collar MAGA aesthetics but the politics of Bernie Sanders. First Fetterman and now Platner. Neither are actually of working class stock. Ironically neither are those pundits.

Lakshya Jain being a hack was confirmed to me when he tried to claim voter sentiment on the economy being so bad under Biden had nothing to do with the media forecasting a recession (which never came) but praised Reagan's handling of inflation even though he did have a recession (+10% unemployment)
