Ok serious question: what are cults in 2025?

It seems like now you’re just an influencer doing MLM. And since everyone is online and therefore you also have to be online, you a) can’t drop out and do drugs & b) can’t do the classic cult thing like get everyone to move to a compound and self-isolate

While in Pasadena for the LA Art Book Fair with currenteditions.bsky.social, we naturally had to pay our respects to Orean’s Health Express on Lake Street (RIP!).

Founded by Orean Curtis Thomas in 1979, Orean’s was the first vegetarian fast food restaurant in the United States.

The largest union in America, the three million member-strong National Educators Association, has voted to *cut all ties* with the Anti-Defamation League, citing the ADL’s opposition to Palestinian rights and antiracism.

Shout-out to my favorite Friday morning activity: mailorder!!! 🎈
Not every artist publisher I know enjoys doing mail order, but I honestly love it. I get to write a little note to someone I’m deeply appreciative of and decorate the package with stickers we designed. It also fulfills my mail art urges with minimal effort.

I’m obsessed with our local robin, who for the second year in a row now comes to perch on the parking garage across the street from us. He regales us with his song between 5:30-7 am & pm daily.

Pretty surreal to take a workplace training on discrimination that includes size-based bias while news like this drops
'Segregated facilities' are no longer explicitly banned in federal contracts
The Trump administration cut a clause from federal contracting rules that had been on the books since the 1960s: Companies are no longer explicitly prohibited from having segregated facilities.
