Well, my family didn’t appreciate my “gift” of AirTags for their constantly lost water bottles and car keys…

This just adds further evidence to my theory that we didn’t ever make it there in the first place.
The delay means the Artemis II — the next flight in NASA’s Artemis moon program that looks to return humans to the lunar surface for the first time in more than 50 years — will launch roughly 17 months after it was initially scheduled.

Am I allowed to both complain about people putting their Xmas lights out 6 weeks ago AND complain about how cold it is putting my Xmas lights out now?

Is there anything more Presbyterian than singing the chorus of O Come, O Come Emmanuel like you were at a funeral? “😞rejoice… 🙁rejoice….”

Tomorrow’s liturgy on hope (which I wrote cheering on OSU as they lost) is going to be a wild ride for our folks. Buckle up.

Can we finally admit that Thanksgiving food is *not* that good?

It’s like the deli-meat turkey is an entirely different food item than Thanksgiving turkey.

Raise your hand if you’re also a pastor and you are the go-to-person for being asked to say the blessing while visiting your extended family.

It’s officially Christmas season!

In a sibling Xmas gift exchange ($50 limit), how many items do you add to the digital Wish List? Do you add the one specific thing you want? A list of a dozen for them to choose from? Nothing, let them decide?

Come on, guys, I need help winning a convergument with my wife.

In Deut. 6&7, Moses is concerned Israel will fall away from the Lord: by growing comfortable in luxury, by bowing to other idols, and by failing to pass along the faith to their children. Parents, a great task stands before us. Get up and get ready for church, bring your kids, and worship with them!

Is the rule still true that winter-coat-pocket lost-and-found cash doesn’t have to be reported to your spouse and your budget?

Cleveland Metroparks are probably my favorite part of living in Northeast Ohio.

I attended a local college ministry (cont.) worship night with 2 of our YA members last night. I knew 0 of the 8 songs played. The guy next to me (born and raised PCA) knew every 1 of them. I didn’t realize how disconnected I was to the younger generations. What are your fav new worship songs?

Preaching on the need to pass along the faith to the next generation within families + church communities. What are your favorite family worship/discipleship resources?

Word of warning to all my fellow new Bluesky users: “We are daily catechized to live in the cultural narratives by our technology in a digital age. If we are not being intentional to renarrate our lives with Scripture, then it will be these narratives that shape us.” Michael Goheen.

Memory popped up that three years ago I began rereading Harry Potter. Finished all 7 books by the new year. Was my second or third time rereading all the way through. How long do I need to wait to do that again? In itching for a cozy holiday book series.

Dear #meta Threads (I know you’re watching). If I haven’t opened your app in a while despite the little red dot (which, to be honest, doesn’t mean I have a legitimate notification), sending me an email telling me I have unread threads waiting for me is not going to persuade me. Sorry.

Esther and Moses form the boundaries of experiences with God between which we exist. Both called to stand before kings and deliver God’s people. God shows himself abundantly with one and is hidden in the other. Luther asked why we needed Esther. It’s for days God feels distant. Hiddenness ≠ Absence

Finishing up a sermon series on Esther tomorrow. Spent two weeks longer than initially planned on it. Has been the most difficult and most interesting sermon series I’ve worked through.
