FOMO lol. Didn’t work on me and made me slightly less likely to go

But it did make me wonder how many ppl it works on

I’ve been out of town for 8 days. Time to get going again

I admit I had forgotten entirely about my himss26 submission. Not because it wasn’t important it was just that was right around when the baby was sleeping the least and I was a zombie.

Woo just got my acceptance for an hour presentation at HIMSS26. Large language models here I come.

I’m ready for a relaxing Labor Day. Too bad nobody told the kids :D

I haven’t logged in in months. I meant to but was busy, we had a new baby. I’m part of a professional society. I’m flabbergasted that adults don’t recognize the difference between calling for policy changes and calling for the removal of a single person. It makes me wonder if I’m wrong.

Openai is hosting a thing tonight "Introduction to OpenAI's Head of Recruiting", only 11,000 people joining. 😳 I think I'll wind up de-prioritizing this one. I was mainly hoping to hear if they were going to stop requiring everyone to move in person to the valley.

My 9 year old daughter just told me her life goal is to never get married and to own 100 cats. ROFL

Audiobook Generator GUI that can clone your voice like 11Labs but hosted locally. Fun little project so I could listen to the books I've written and make sure everything sounded right.

Why is it that every MD who recommends against GLP-1's on my linkedin news feed is selling something which is threatened by patients who lose weight with a GLP-1? Its mildly fascinating to me.

Tried different deep research. openai's chatgpt nerfing of deep research makes the product very poor in comparison to gemini's free offering. I suspect the full version was probably still at least on par with gemini if not better but I can't know for a month.

What HIE's can support academic research?
Someone asked about how other states are able to use their HIE for clinical research on an academic forum I'm on. It seemed a perfect use case to try and have gemini deep research go head to head agai...

I spend the whole afternoon moving containers from the 10x20 container in front of our house to the shed we constructed in the back over the past couple months. I'm exhausted and reminded that physical labor is a great distraction but I don't want to do it full time. I finished the container though.

"Vaccine's Cause Autism" is implausible. One of my LI posts have gone mildly viral. I normally get ~500 to ~1000 impressions. Its all being driven by a very concerned anti-vaxer trying to fight the good fight. I've not suppressed him because its making it far more likely to go to other anti-vaxers.

I did a small little project in the hopes I'd amuse my wife.
April 25, 2025 at 8:48 PM
I’m watching anti-vaxers argue on my LinkedIn feed. It’s fascinating. I made an entire infographic saying I disagree with them but they are trying to convince me/others that there’s more data. Unpublished or retracted data, but that there must be something there.

We've not been ignoring the Vaccine question, its been looked at time and time again across the world. Here are some of the largest most robust studies. Here's how we started counting differently. Here's how adults started being diagnosed rather than 2-4 year olds. #autism #vaccines #whatif

I took my kid to History club today and they are talking about time capsules. We talked about a time capsule being opened with pokemon cards and gameboys. For kids who are ~9/10 they thought that the game boy came right before the switch. I feel old.

Imposter syndrome is a real thing and at 40 I still suffer from it. I worried about doing the LLM presentation at AMIA what if I'm a fraud. I worry about writing the LLM book. www.routledge.com/Large-Langua...

I'm a sucker for a good organization chart. This one nerd sniped me

I've been ignoring politics, please ignore the politics here, I wanted to see if there was a list of new government websites today and doge was the top of the new ones.

Is it bad that I assume most people I know aren't doge fans

I'm having a wonderful time at the AMIA IS meeting. However, The hurry up and wait is strong tonight. After radio silence for three months I just was asked to turn something around in a week. (Not client work. Volunteer activities)

I am wiped. 3 hours of only me lecturing this morning for the LLM workshop was a lot. Very positive feedback and a very engaged room. So grateful because sometimes it’s very unengaged.
