Do the small things that make you happy, now especially. Will they change the world? Probably not. Will they help keep you going? Yes. And THAT is what will change the world.
There are a lot of us still fighting in our small ways. It doesn't feel that way a lot of the time. But we are not alone.

There’s a major shift in U.S. cybersecurity policy. A recent CISA memo removed Russia from its list of priorities, focusing instead on China and local systems. Analysts were told not to track Russian cyber threats.

This administration can try to erase queer history by removing language from websites and records, but we will not forget that it was trans black and brown people who spearheaded our revolutions, nor will we allow them to be excluded from our future. Stand together. Preserve the truth.

The United States government is not supposed to be run like a business; it is a service, provided by and for the people, and merely administered by officials.

Surprisingly, we find ourselves thanking a Trump appointee—so thank you, Judge. Judge Carl Nichols of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia announced after a hearing that he would issue a temporary restraining order to halt the imminent administrative leave of 2,200 USAID employees.

Dark Horse laid off some of our staff this week. I still have my job, but we lost some good people. Thanks to everyone who reached out to check in.

When an editor does their job well, most people will never know their impact or influence. And that's how it *should* be. You don't get into this side of the business for the accolades.

Any moment of joy we as marginalized people can steal from this life is an act of rebellion. Don't let them steal your joy.
Laughter is also rebellion 💖
Folks.

I am still telling jokes on the internet like a doofus. I want to explain why I am telling jokes like a doofus when people, especially marginalized people but also everyone else, are being slowly pulled apart by the most ghastly people imaginable.

The answer is, for my mental health.

With so much fear of ICE raids, agricultural workers are afraid to report to their jobs. Which means grocery prices will probably rise, fast. Where are your cheap eggs now, Karen?

It's the post-holiday panic, when everyone realizes that "January's problems" have come home to roost. 😅 If you need me, I'll be knee-deep in email triage.

Very excited that the word on this is finally out! Cullen, Chris, Piky, Frank, and Helen have done a really fabulous (and horrific) job with this one.

I never posted much on the bird app, but given the new wave of folks making the transition here, I'mma try to engage a bit more.

This is why having a good editor matters. Considering things like, y'know, humanity and working them into the schedule wherever possible is integral to successful management.
One of the issues with mainstream comics as an industry is there's no time built in for failure. Gotta produce those pages at the same pace every month. No room for you to throw out a page or sequence that isn't working.
I wonder how many people genuinely think that artists don't routinely fail at things. Like, start writing a story and it doesn't work out and you put it in 'the file'. Noodle around with a piece of music and decide it's not a thing. I assure you - artists fail constantly. It's a big part of the gig.

What a fabulous weekend at #RCCC! I didn't have a chance to come see half the people I wanted to, but it was a gift to meet up with everyone I managed to meet up with. You all make this one great show year after year.

Confession: I don't usually read the comics I edit once they're published. For one, I've usually already read them about a dozen times at that point, and secondly, I stress about finding mistakes that I missed!! But I think I've re-read the English edition of Sara Soler's "Us" four times already.
