Eg (shown in dark green) Forest Service land people use for hiking, camping, horse-riding, general outdoors-ing in San Bernardino Mountains.

A great way for Senate Democrats to protest what’s going on is to not have almost 40% of the caucus keep voting to advance a money laundering bill.

i think your typical democratic voter will respond much better to "they hate this motherfucker in the white house as much as i do" than endless flagellation over biden, especially since the latter looks weak and reinforces all the worst stereotypes about democrats!

NEW: A searing editorial in the The Kyiv Independent.

“It’s time to say it plainly. America’s leadership has switched sides in the war. The American people have not, and they should speak up.

My senator, everyone. The one who claims to be a constitutional scholar.
The people who are engaged in a series of illegal abuses of government power - some might even call it a coup! - are labeling even the slightest judicial pushback to be a coup. I don't know where this ends, but its clear where they want it to end.

@kuer.org I have no idea how Doug Fabrizio's head didn't explode when John Curtis insisted that T wearing a purple tie meant things were going to be different in Washington this year.

*My* head almost exploded. I did yell at the radio.

Remember the argument that the insurrectionist soon to take office is disqualified by the Fourteenth Amendment?

I know, vaguely. But (1) it’s still strong and (2) SCOTUS didn’t reject it. See Baude & Paulsen, Sweeping Section 3 Under the Rug (Harv. Law Rev 2025) papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers....

if you're trying to make sense of how we got here, one place to start is with the senators who had the opportunity to permanently disqualify Trump from public office in 2021 and chose cowardice instead.

Went to the local party store to get supplies for our girl scout meeting.

A woman was buying patriotic party items with a Trump cardboard head several feet tall, talking about her upcoming victory party.

As I passed her, I didn't dare say, "Looks like one of us will be happy tomorrow night."

Of course a single recipe has about as much value as a single Facebook page. The power comes in the collection of recipes all across the web from trusted content creators: actual humans using actual products and actually test them to get them just right.

So if we're claiming that states can't have differing rules about who can be on their ballots for president (which, I can understand this point), then is there any reason the electoral college should still be a thing?

I mean, if the goal is to avoid a chaotic patchwork... 🧐
just think of the chaotic state-by-state patchwork this could create
