Comhgairdeas Éamon Little agus a chuid foireann leis an scannán 'Born that way'.

The film has won Best Irish Documentary at the Dublin Film Festival. It charts the extraordinary life of Patrick Lydon who founded Camphill Ballytobin in Kilkenny.

I was lucky to call him a friend.

If we were to only deal with climate change in financial terms, it's still a no-brainer to invest in climate action.

Today's report from the IFAC and CCAC is another reason for us to ramp up #climate action.

The Snowdrop | Plúirín sneachta.

Making its Spring cameo appearance in charcoal is the Snowdrop. The snowdrop is a garden escapee, which has now become naturalised in Ireland. I’ve lifted its head lifted for you to see the beautiful interior

Spindle | Feoras
The bright pink-coral berries of the Spindle found growing in the Irish hedgerows. I’ve used layers of transparent pinks - Rose Permanent & Rose Madder Genuine to capture those pop-art colours of the four-lobed berries.

Bramble | Blackberry | Dris
Here’s a study of Autumnal Bramble leaves in ink and charcoal egg tempera. I love watching the dark green leaves transform over the season into these deep rich colours.

The importance of ‘deadwood’ for nature.
By leaving deadwood in community spaces and woods, land managers & councils can provide homes for all sorts of insects, mosses, fungi & lichens, as well as vital bird & bat nesting sites. It's also easy #climateaction, as deadwood locks up carbon for years!

Horse Chestnut
Here’s a study in ink & charcoal egg tempera of Chestnut leaves & a conker. Although ‘non-native’ to Ireland (origins considered to be from the Balkans) the beautiful Horse Chestnuts line the banks of the River Nore & mark the change of season.
