Sometimes, ice cream cake is requested, but travels terribly, so you make two tiny cakes, one with and one without, to accommodate sending your truck driver husband some when he goes out. Sometimes your adorable 8yr old custom 3D pen prints a cake topper for his dad. Sometimes the ice cream melts.

Newest creation. I felt wool while my eldest is in class, painting. She's taking an adult level zoom acrylic/ oil painting class, so I hang out while she learns. I'm learning a lot about art history along the way as well, and her teacher is becoming a close friend. Win/ win/ win

Of all of Trump's unhinged cabinet picks, Bob Kennedy for HHS may be the absolute worst.

Let’s make sure this worm-brain is never confirmed by the Senate. These letters make a huge difference & don’t take but a minute.

There is so much happening right now, JUST with weather. We're under a foot of snow, and our tiny town isn't equipped to deal with it, so three days (4?) after the storm and most of our streets are still covered up, and we're going to get hit with more tomorrow.

This winter storm is pretty intense. Stay safe if you're being impacted! Schools were called off by 3 pm today, so a friend stayed over. The change in routine led to my youngest letting the dog out for the final time, which led to... midnight adventure. ss of txt to husband for the story! 🙃

Tomorrow is Jan 6. It was NOT a “day of love.” Witnesses remember it as a day of anti-democratic vigilante violence. Let’s make sure history does, too.

‘A Day of Love’: How Trump Inverted the Violent History of Jan. 6 (Gift Article)
The president-elect and his allies have spent four years reinventing the Capitol attack — spreading conspiracy theories and weaving a tale of martyrdom to their ultimate political gain.

STAHP.

I have no idea what my kid was doing popping out from under the table, or what the cat was doing ON the table, but Mr. Pumpkin-Pants was having none of the kid's shenanigans.

My kid loves Minecraft and was given a cookbook with recipes to make food related to the game. Christmas dessert was the Golden Apple that he helped me make! I'm happy that it got the 8 year old in the kitchen. Everyone else was happy for the sweet treat. Win/ win

A savage and true description of our current state. Unfortunately, Meta & other social medias shadowban & throttle accounts that talk about these issues, so they are 100% complicit in the coverup.

But here on Bluesky & Substack, we're keeping our eyes wide open.
Both Texas and Georgia are destroying evidence of all maternal mortality, blocking proof that women are dying from abortion bans.

This story has a lot more going on than you think. Especially since Republicans are lying about the public cases.

Republicans don't care if women die from abortion bans — but they don't want you to know about it
Women will keep dying, but the GOP is working hard to destroy the evidence

My kid's paint towels from art class. I hand wash and hang dry them to keep the paint out of the laundry. All of those bright splotches of color bring me such joy!

Read this powerful statement by Harry Litman, explaining his resignation as the senior legal analyst for the Los Angeles Times. I have watched the Times sink to second rate status. Harry’s departure suggest it is quickly becoming a red rag in a blue state.

It's hard to find the want to celebrate, but I've got 3 kids who live for this time of year and a partner who loves it, too and will help, so I've started to decorate.

IF ONLY WE HAD THE DATA ON VACCINE EFFICACY

Measles, diphtheria, mumps, rubella, smallpox & polio—all dramatically reduced or eliminated thanks to vaccines. Millions of children’s lives saved.

Anti-vaxxer RFK Jr as HHS Secretary will spike the numbers—blood will be on the Senate’s hands. Speak up.

I called the cat to the kitchen to eat. I didn't expect him to get into the mini- kitchen. A kitchen within the kitchen, if you will.
