When someone becomes a habitual liar, it is not so much that they tell lies, but that the lies tell them. We forget that to tell a lie is a moral achievement, for to tell a lie means that we first understand the truth, from which we are departing. (continued in comments).

Because I am a follower of Jesus, I understand the public health to be a sacred trust. Today our nation (by a very narrow vote) has treated this carelessly, opting for conspiracy theories rather than science. All of which boggles the mind. Stay safe out there.

Remembering Jimmy Carter: there once was a time (latter half of 1970s) when to be an evangelical Christian in public office meant honesty, integrity, compassion, racial justice, and peace. I'd give anything to have those days back, and I care not one whit if it came from Republicans or Democrats.
