Day #314/365: The Saturday evening sky over Calvary Hill was utterly aflame, followed by cold and gray for the rest of our time there. We return today from this wondrous place. #AbbeyOfGethsemani

Day #313/365: Every time I visit, I look for this face. Brother Conrad‘s body has been slowed by 96 years on this earth, but he still weeps in gratitude when he thinks about Jesus. I am inspired by him. #AbbeyOfGethsemani

Day #311/365: Spending some time at the monastery and met a new friend. Brother Christopher is a native of Reading, PA and was attracted to the contemplative life as a young man. After serving it several monasteries, he made his home here 29 years ago. #AbbeyOfGethsemani

Day #208/365: On this Election Day, may I humbly assert that you are voting for more than your own interests. You are voting for the common good of the community and for those who have no vote in it. 🗳️✅🇺🇸

Day #303/365: Taking in a gorgeous sunset tonight. I couldn’t let the day go by without recognizing that it would’ve been my mother‘s 95th birthday. I see traces of her in Julia; but one of the biggest regrets of my life is that she never had the chance to hold her granddaughter…

Day #300/365: Reconciling with the uncomfortable reality that a week from now, this will be 5 PM. Let the record show, however, that I am a fan of Daylight Savings Time.

Day #295/365: The sun shown all day as I took a meandering trip back to Cardiff. As I drove the backroads through Ystradfellte. I was met with one breathtaking vista after another. This wild and beautiful place has sunken into my bones, but I will be glad to get back to my girls. #Wales 🏴

Day #294/365: Malcolm was a part of a bell ringing society (not handbells - the big church bells). Tonight, all 10 bells at Brecon Cathedral were rung in cascading courses in his honor. He rang with and taught most of the people in that circle. We are all gonna miss that good old Welshman. 🏴🔔🏴

Day #293/365: I flew in to Cardiff, Wales and got a rental car for the drive to Brecon for my friend Malcolm’s funeral. The drive through the Beacons was absolutely amazing. Mere photos can’t do justice to the utter scale of it all…
