As a Canadian with family and friends in the US, and as an exvangelical and ex-conservative, I very much understand what Trygve is trying to get at here. I also understand the heated pushback. I see zero solutions or ideas offered in the comments. Is it just hopeless?

Oh wow, this is super useful. A ton of these things were set to "hide" for me. I've just set most of them to "warn" instead so I can at least see what the fuss is about and tweak from there.
Wondering why no one likes your posts anymore, even among your friends? It's because @jay.bsky.team and team have decided to hide a huge amount of content from all of our feeds by default.

I sure do miss the days in North America when we could go days… weeks without hearing about some major government or humanitarian crises. I realize we used to have it pretty good when compared to many other parts of the world. Still… I miss it.
