Did you know that Chiba, Japan and Houston, Texas are Sister Cities? Our ties are currently on prominent display as Daikin - a major employer in the area - takes on the naming right for the Houston Astros home field; and ZipAir has begun affordable, direct flights from Houston to Japan.

It distresses me to see comments online of people gloating or mocking the tragedy happening in Los Angeles. This is not politics or team sports: this is humanity. We should, at the very least, band together at a time of crisis. These destructive events do not care about our supposed divisions.

Can I post from Instagram to Bluesky? I’ll figure it out…

Meanwhile, tomorrow the Mayor’s office is pushing their plan to address homelessness. I’m am going to listen with an open mind.

Harris County points out that Houston has experienced a 60% decrease in homelessness since 2011. Mayor Whitmire is saying it is not enough and is pushing new programs and calls relying on Federal funding a major flaw.

What are the next steps?

Fun day or night activity in Houston: Cidercade

Inexpensive, food and drink options are good. I stick with the more dry ciders, but plenty of sweet tooth options. Unlimited arcade games. Good for date night or family outing.

All ciders are gluten free for the celiac crowd! Not sure about food, tho

New season of Outlander starts November 22nd.

Looks like I’m going to be a TV bachelor again once Anna decides to start it up. She won’t let me be in the room with her when she’s watching it…just because I pointed out the show’s theme song does not contain the actual Skye Boat Song lyrics.
